Xiaomi has once again set the stage for innovation with the new 2025 launch of its Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 15 Ultra, Xiaomi Pad 7, and Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro in Singapore. These latest models bring significant upgrades in design and performance, promising a cutting-edge experience for smartphone and tablet users.
But how do these new devices compare to their predecessors of the previous Xiaomi 14 and the Pad 6 series? Are they worth the upgrade? Let’s dive into the details!
Xiaomi 15 – What’s New?
As the smallest smartphone in Xiaomi's flagship 15 series lineup, The Xiaomi 15 is designed for users who want a powerful flagship smartphone in a compact and stylish form factor. It features a 6.36-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a stunning 3200 nits of peak brightness, delivering exceptional clarity and color accuracy.
However, in terms of the display, not much has changed from last year's Xiaomi 14. The main improvement, comes from the new and improved Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, featuring superb performance for light and heavy tasks. This new chipset boasts better power efficiency, and improved single and multi-core performance over the previous generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Another notable improvement comes in the form of a larger 5,240 mAh battery on the Xiaomi 15, versus its predecessor's 4,610 mAh battery. For many years, a significant disadvantage of compact smartphones was a smaller battery size. With breakthroughs in Silicon Carbide (Si/C) technology for Li-ion batteries, the small Xiaomi 15 is able to fit a battery on par with other larger smartphones.
Aside from the internal specifications, the Xiaomi 15 offers a slightly slimmer and lighter chassis, with a smooth glass back and a rounded aluminium frame, for an overall more premium feel.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra – Flagship Photography Perfection?
Once again, Xiaomi pushes the boundaries of smartphone photography with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. This beast of a flagship features a 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, and a top-tier camera setup.
Unfortunately, not that much has improved in terms of the camera setup, from the Xiaomi 14 Ultra to the new 15 Ultra. The new 15 Ultra does however feature a new, 200 MP Periscope Telephoto lens. In terms of actual photo and video taking performance, the results are mixed. For a detailed comparison of the photo-taking quality differences between the two models, check out Sami Luo Tech's Xiaomi 15 Ultra vs Xiaomi 14 Ultra camera comparison review.
Like its smaller sibling, the main gains for this generation of the Ultra lineup comes in the form of the improved Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, and a larger 5,410 mAh Si/C Li-Ion battery (compared to last year's 5,000 mAh on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra). A more efficient chipset combined with a larger battery, has resulted in an estimated 36% longer battery life on the 15 Ultra.

Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro – Same Design, Better Performance
In line with Xiaomi's direction for new releases in 2025, the Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro offer generational spec improvements over its predecessors. Once again, both the Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro feature the same exact aluminium unibody design, and an 11.2-inch 144Hz display. This means that they both share the same accessories, such as the newly released Xiaomi Pad 7 / Pad 7 Pro Keyboard, and the Focus Keyboard.
The standard Xiaomi Pad 7 features a solid midrange Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, while the Pad 7 Pro offers last generation flagship performance, with its Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. The Pad 7 comes specced with 8GB of RAM, with options for either 128GB or 256GB of storage. The Pad 7 Pro however, comes with 12GB of RAM, with options for 256GB or 512GB of storage.
Compared to last year's Pad 6 model with a snapdragon 870 chipset, the newer Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chip found in the Pad 7 offers significantly better performance in both single-core and multi-core workloads.
Meanwhile, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 found in the Pad 7 Pro also provides substantial improvements from the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 of the Pad 6 Pro.
In short, the new Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro are great upgrade choices from last year's Pad 6 series!
